Oh, yeah…this too! I'm a compulsively creative person whose life is devoted to an endless series of projects. Elsewhere on this site, you can find out all about my various pursuits in theatre, literature, film, and music. Parallel to those pursuits, I also have this accidental career as a graphic designer.
It began with the need to create posters, programs, projections, and advertisements for my own theatrical productions; then friends started hiring me to design for their shows, too. This became my day job, and after many years of dutiful but passionless design work, I’ve inadvertently become accomplished. As a graphic designer, I’ve won national awards, been featured in major publications, and made a reasonable living. I’ve spent more than a decade designing for Max Merchandising, a leading creator of apparel, souvenirs, and publications for Broadway shows and other cultural events. In the spring of 2022, I began work as the resident graphic designer for Actors’ Equity Association.
Below is a small sampling of my design work over the last fifteen years.
PRINT PUBLICATIONS
Most of my design work exists only on screens, but my favorite work is for print.
THEATRICAL PUBLICITY
Designing posters, logos, and publicity for plays and musicals is the most fun a designer can have.
